ClearVue Technologies says its ClearVue-Helios rooftop solar panels have been added to the Clean Energy Council (CEC) Approved Products List, a certification that allows the products to be connected to Australia’s electricity grid and qualify for government renewable energy incentives.
In an ASX announcement, ClearVue said the inclusion on the CEC Approved Products List confirms that the ClearVue-Helios panels have met international design, performance and electrical safety standards, including IEC 61215 and IEC 61730, as well as the CEC’s consumer protection requirements.
The company said CEC listing is widely used by specifiers, builders and asset owners as an independent verification that solar panels meet quality, safety and durability requirements.
It also noted that CEC certification is required for solar panels to be connected to the Australian grid and to be eligible for government renewable energy subsidies.
ClearVue said its ClearVue-Helios product range is an integrated, metal-backed rooftop solar system capable of delivering up to 220 W/m² and up to 600 W per panel.
The company said the panels feature a fully sealed mounting system that acts as a secondary roof, carry a Class A fire rating, and are backed by a 30-year performance warranty and a 15-year product warranty.
The company said the listing positions ClearVue-Helios for participation in the Australian rooftop and commercial solar market by meeting a certification requirement commonly applied by customers, installers and project specifiers.
ClearVue Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Doug Hunt said the certification represented an important step for the company and its customers.
“Achieving CEC listing for ClearVue-Helios is an important milestone for both our customers and our shareholders. It provides further independent verification that the product meets the quality and safety standards expected by the Australian market,” Hunt said.
“We believe this strengthens the commercial opportunity for ClearVue-Helios and gives customers greater confidence when specifying our products.”
Hunt also said the company viewed the timing of the certification positively following the Australian Government’s recent announcement expanding incentives for commercial solar installations.
“We also noted the government’s announcement yesterday modifying the incentives for commercial solar installations in Australia. The changes mean that upfront incentives can now be applied to commercial installations of up to 1MW instead of the prior 100KW maximum,” he said.
“This will reduce the acquisition cost of commercial solar significantly, so the achievement of this certification is timely. Crucially these incentives will lower the acquisition cost of the whole range of ClearVue products for our customers further improving paybacks.”
