Ai Group Queensland is hosting a series of panel discussions to explore new opportunities and significant contributions women make to Queensland’s manufacturing sector.

The Women in Manufacturing conference in Gladstone and Mackay will be held on the 23rd and 25th of August, respectively.

The first conference will be held at the Oaks Gladstone Grand Hotel while the second event is slated to take place at the Rydges Mackay Suites. The events mark Ai Group’s fifth year of recognising the important contributions that women make to the state’s industrial sector.

Attendees of the free seated breakfast event will hear inspiring stories from panellists and learn how local manufacturers are executing business strategies aimed at retaining and attracting women into the workforce.

Sponsored by the Queensland state government, the event comes as the manufacturing sector leads the state’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The state is currently witnessing increasing demand for emerging technologies, new skill sets, and new business strategies aimed at diversifying the industry.

The conference will be hosted by Mel Ireland, policy and project lead from Ai Group.
