Artificial intelligence is continuing to reshape food and beverage processing in Australia, as leading technology providers showcase their AI-supported solutions at FoodTech Qld 2025.
Taking place from 19 to 20 June at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre, the trade event demonstrates how automation and machine learning are being integrated across the industry to improve efficiency, enhance safety, and streamline production.
According to the Australian Government’s AI Adoption Tracker, 45 per cent of manufacturing businesses have adopted AI-based solutions as of September 2024, with the food sector contributing to this growing trend.
FoodTech Qld, a key industry event focused on innovation in food manufacturing, is highlighting how AI is now playing a critical role in modernising Australia’s food systems.
Among the exhibiting companies is Atek Engineering, which brings over 20 years of automation experience to the sector.
Its Aterno AI platform uses real-time data and machine learning to monitor and optimise manufacturing performance. The system predicts potential equipment failures and pinpoints production inefficiencies, helping operators reduce downtime, cut waste, and make faster, more informed decisions.
Also exhibiting is Aquatiq, whose cleaning systems are used by food manufacturers across Australia. The company offers automated Clean-in-Place and foam cleaning solutions supported by software that validates each cleaning cycle.
Aquatiq’s approach reduces chemical and water use while maintaining stringent hygiene standards.
Toowoomba-based Anysort is showcasing its high-speed sorting and X-ray inspection systems. Powered by machine vision and AI, their systems detect subtle defects and contaminants in grains, seeds, and other ingredients.
FoodTech Qld organisers said the event reflects the broader movement toward digital transformation in food manufacturing.
FoodTech Qld is Queensland’s leading trade event for the food and beverage manufacturing industry, featuring exhibitors across processing, packaging, and industrial technology.
