The Australian Government ramps up its backing for the local defence industry by unveiling the latest Australian Defence Export Catalogue.

This updated catalogue boasts a record number of businesses presenting export-ready products, services, and technologies, marking a notable 20 per cent increase from the previous edition, the government said in a media release.

Launched amid the rollout of the 2024 Defence Industry Development Strategy, the catalogue underscores the government’s commitment to fostering export opportunities, a vital component for enhancing the resilience of Australia’s sovereign defence industrial base.

This catalogue is reported to reflect the government’s dedication to aiding local defence industry enterprises in accessing global markets and integrating Australian innovation into international supply chains.

According to the government, all exports of controlled goods and technology undergo a stringent assessment process in compliance with Australia’s Defence Export Control legislation.

The Minister for Defence Industry Pat Conroy expressed satisfaction at the significant presence of Australian businesses showcasing their offerings globally.

He emphasised the potential for job creation and the advancement of the local defence industry through such initiatives.

Furthermore, he noted that the record participation of 302 companies in the 2024 catalogue indicates a mutual goal between the industry and the Australian Government to boost exports.

“The catalogue underscores the Government’s unwavering commitment to supporting local defence industry to export Aussie defence technology and capability to the world, which further strengthens our sovereign defence industry,” the minister concluded.
