South Australia-based manufacturing company REDARC has been named winner of the Manufacturing and Advanced Materials Award at the 60th Australian Export Awards.

REDARC has 40 years’ experience in research, design and manufacturing of electronic devices such as inverters, power supplies, battery chargers and trailer braking products.

CEO and Managing Director Anthony Kittel said nothing gave him greater pleasure than to see his products leaving the country with the Australia made logo on it – going around the world to more than 50 countries.

“To our more than 350 staff back in Lonsdale South Australia, they have manufacturing in their blood. We thrive seeing our manufacturing sector grow in Australia,” he said.

“We pride ourselves on being born in Australia, and we believe it gives us a competitive
advantage both domestically and internationally.

“We are the market leader in Australia and New Zealand when it comes to mobile off-grid power and electronic trailer braking, and we want to replicate that success in the US and Europe.

“North America’s recreational vehicle market presents the greatest growth potential for us right now, as it is approximately 12 times the size of Australia’s market. Europe’s recreational vehicle market is about four times the size of Australia’s.

“We have big ambitions, with a goal of growing our export business to be 50 per cent of our turnover by 2024.

Mr Kittel said winning an Australian Export Award validated the company’s approach and set an even stronger foundation for future investment and growth.

“It motivates our employees and business partners and highlights to current and future
customers that we are a valued and respected business.”
