Rockwell Automation has announced the release of its new Allen-Bradley Micro820 L20E controllers, designed to deliver improved performance and connectivity within the same compact design.
In a news release, the company said the new controllers aim to simplify integration and speed up commissioning for machine builders, supporting greater operational productivity and faster time-to-market.
According to Rockwell Automation, the L20E models build upon the capabilities of the existing LC20 controllers, providing enhancements in program execution, I/O responses and communication efficiency.
It noted the controllers include support for Class 1 implicit messaging across up to four nodes, which the company said enables more efficient communication and enhances real-time control and reliability between connected devices.
Rockwell Automation stated the new controllers also feature a modern USB Type C port that simplifies initial machine setup and configuration. Rockwell Automation noted that this improvement helps reduce engineering time during installation
The company stated that the Micro820 L20E controllers are compatible with Connected Components Workbench software version 23 and FactoryTalk Design Workbench software version 1 or later, enabling users to utilise advanced features within an intuitive programming environment.
Rockwell Automation described the new L20E controllers as the latest addition to its Micro800 family, designed to make the development of smart machines simpler, faster, and more cost-effective.
