Austal Australia has handed over the ninth Evolved Cape Class Patrol Boat (ECCPB) to the Department of Defence, marking another milestone in its contract with the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group for the Royal Australian Navy.

Austal Limited has announced that its Australasia division has secured a contract valued between AUD 14 million and AUD 16 million to build a 36-metre catamaran for Cruise Whitsundays, part of experiential tourism group Journey Beyond.

Austal USA has received a USD 273 million contract option from the United States Coast Guard for the construction of a second Heritage-class Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) and the procurement of long lead-time materials for a third vessel.

Austal Australasia has secured a contract valued between A$265 million and A$275 million to design and construct a 130-metre "hydrogen-ready" high-speed ferry for Swedish shipping company Gotlandsbolaget. 

For over three decades, Austal has been a leader in Australian shipbuilding, transforming from a small fishing vessel manufacturer into a global force in lightweight, high-performance ship design.
