ABB says its manufacturing-driven grinding technology will play a central role in a major new mining development in Australia, after securing a contract to supply mill drive systems for the Eva Copper Mine Project in Queensland.

A common mineral that accounts for the majority of the world’s copper supply could play a key role in improving how the metal is extracted, according to new research from Monash University published in Nature Geoscience.

Queensland manufacturing and resources capability is set for a major lift, with the Queensland Government announcing it has secured a $2.3 billion investment in the new Eva Copper Mine in North West Queensland.
