British multinational defence technology company QinetiQ has opened a new office in Mawson Lakes, South Australia, in response to the growing demand for its products and services across the country.

The company, which recently acquired RubiKon Group, said the move will add 27 permanent positions to its 330-strong workforce across Australia.

Defence Industry Minister Christopher Pyne said the new office demonstrates the company’s confidence in and commitment to Australia and Australian jobs.

“QinetiQ is an important industry support partner for flight testing systems at Woomera Test Range, and has recently commenced engineering, logistics and business support for the P-8A Poseidon’s crucial Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance capabilities in South Australia,” Mr Pyne added.

“Companies like QinetiQ are making important investment decisions now to set themselves up for success in the future and to take advantage of these opportunities.”
