Mad Max Factory has announced the launch of a limited collection of officially licensed Mad Max vehicle recreations, with the Australian-built models developed for collectors and fans of the film franchise.
According to the company, the inaugural collection will comprise 25 vehicles, each recreated under the supervision of director George Miller and producer Doug Mitchell. Mad Max Factory said the vehicles are designed to faithfully reproduce the look and mechanical character of the iconic machines featured throughout the series.
In a news release, the company said the builds are intended to preserve the franchise’s distinctive aesthetic, emphasising physicality, visual intensity and mechanical authenticity rather than modern digital or automated systems.
“These vehicles were never meant to feel polished or soft,” said Giuseppe Cassin, Director of Film & Strategic Partnerships for Mad Max Factory. “They were built to feel functional, brutal, and real, and that’s exactly what we wanted to preserve.”
Mad Max Factory said the collection has been positioned as an alternative to contemporary automotive trends, adopting what it described as a hands-on, craftsmanship-led approach to vehicle construction.
According to the company, the recreations are intended to be “film perfect”, remaining faithful to the original cinematic vision while reflecting the themes of survival and mechanical ingenuity that have defined the franchise for more than four decades.
The company said the project is not intended as a mass-market automotive offering, but as a limited Australian build program aimed at collectors who value the cultural significance of the vehicles.
Mad Max Factory describes itself as a licensed builder of screen-accurate Mad Max recreation vehicles, drawing on more than 25 years of experience in automotive fabrication and film prop recreation.
The company said its work is carried out under the direction of George Miller and Doug Mitchell to recreate vehicles from the franchise as drivable, screen-accurate machines.
