Brother International Australia has launched the GTX300NC, a new garment printer that combines Direct to Garment (DTG) and Direct to Film (DTF) printing capabilities in a single machine, replacing the GTX Pro (GTX Pro 423) in the company’s product line-up.
According to Brother, the GTX300NC is designed to allow businesses to switch between printing directly onto cotton garments and producing heat-transfer films for polyester, blended fabrics and performance wear using the same unit.
In a news release, the company said the approach is intended to help garment decorators manage a wider variety of jobs without requiring separate printers for each process.
Greg Benardos, National Sales Manager (DTG) at Brother International Australia, said the printer was developed to support changing production requirements while simplifying operations.
“Today’s businesses need equipment that can adapt to changing customer demands without adding unnecessary complexity to their workflow. The Brother GTX300NC will make it easier to produce a wider range of products while delivering the speed, print quality and reliability Brother is known for,” Benardos said.
Brother said operators can move between DTG and DTF workflows by changing platens and loading either garments or transfer film, enabling production of items including T-shirts, hoodies, workwear, tote bags, denim and sleeve or pocket prints from the one machine.
The company has also incorporated DTF-specific features, including magnetic platen strips designed to keep film flat during loading and GTX Graphics Lab software, which supports design preparation for both DTG and DTF printing through a single interface.
Brother said the GTX300NC produces prints at up to 1200 x 1200 dpi using its five-colour CMYKW water-based pigment Innobella Textile inks. The company added that the inks have AATCC Wash Fastness Test Grade 4 certification and ECO PASSPORT certification for use on children’s clothing. A new White Enhancement Function within the software is also intended to improve white base layers and reduce colour bleed on darker garments.
According to Brother, the printer can complete CMYK printing on light garments in around 41 seconds, CMYK plus white printing on dark garments in approximately 63 seconds, and DTF cut-sheet jobs in about 75 seconds, which it attributes to an upgraded carriage drive system and newly developed print heads.
The GTX300NC also connects to Brother’s Device Core cloud dashboard, allowing users to monitor print counts, ink usage and machine status, while a 7-inch touchscreen provides illustrated maintenance and troubleshooting guidance.
The printer is supplied with a standard 355.6 mm x 420.1 mm platen, with a larger optional wide platen available separately. It is compatible with Windows 11 and macOS 14 Sonoma and macOS 15 Sequoia.
Brother International Australia said the GTX300NC is backed by a 12-month onsite warranty, including printheads.
