The Rockliff Liberal Government launched the Tasmanian Renewable Energy Supply Chain Directory today to help Tasmanian businesses benefit from renewable energy projects.

Minister for Energy and Renewables Guy Barnett said the directory will connect renewable energy proponents with Tasmanian businesses that have the capabilities they need and increase the participation of Tasmanian providers in future renewable energy projects.

Developed by Industry Capability Network Tasmania and Bell Bay Advanced Manufacturing Zone, with input from ReCFIT, the directory is part of the state government’s commitment to the Tasmanian Renewables Energy Action Plan.

Tasmanian suppliers interested in wind, solar, and bio-energy project opportunities can submit a short expression of interest form to be included in the directory.

“As part of the EOI, they will be invited to indicate their businesses capability in a range of fields relevant to renewable energy production, for example, components, project management, transport services and civil works, to name a few,” Barnett said.

“Suppliers can also be matched with and promoted to project proponents depending on their identified capabilities and the proponent’s requirements,” the minister added.

Tasmanian businesses interested in assisting in green hydrogen projects can register through a separate Green Hydrogen – Tasmanian Supply Chain Capability Directory page.

In a media release, the Rockliff government said the Tasmanian Renewable Energy Supply Chain Directory is part of its series of efforts to help renewable energy proponents tap local Tasmanian businesses for their projects, creating more jobs for Tasmanians.
