Manufacturing Queensland is set to host a free online workshop aimed at helping manufacturers understand how artificial intelligence can be applied to improve productivity, efficiency and long-term growth.

The one-hour session, titled Intelligent Automation: AI’s Role in Modern Manufacturing, will be held online on Thursday 12 February 2026 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. The event is being delivered in partnership with the ARM Hub and is targeted primarily at small to medium-sized manufacturing leaders, particularly those responsible for operations and technology transformation.

According to Manufacturing Queensland, the workshop is designed to provide a practical introduction to AI, outlining why the technology is becoming increasingly relevant to manufacturing operations and what AI adoption may mean for businesses in the sector.

Participants will also be guided through initial, actionable steps they can take to begin integrating AI into their processes.

The session will feature guest speakers from the ARM Hub, including Professor Cori Stewart FTSE, founder and chief executive officer of the organisation, along with chief commercial officer Samuel Jesuadian and software and AI engineer Charlotte Birkinshaw.

The speakers will draw on their experience working across industry, research and technology commercialisation to discuss real-world applications of AI in manufacturing.

Professor Stewart, who leads the not-for-profit ARM Hub, has been involved in supporting businesses across sectors such as defence, energy, agriculture, medical technology and resources to modernise using advanced technologies.

She has been recognised nationally and internationally for her work in science, technology and AI for manufacturing. Jesuadian brings experience in operational management and systems innovation, while Birkinshaw contributes hands-on expertise in data engineering, AI systems and user-focused technology solutions.

Manufacturing Queensland said the workshop reflects growing interest in how AI can support manufacturers to perform increasingly complex tasks and remain competitive in a changing industrial landscape.

The event is free to attend and will be delivered online.

Further information and registration details are available through Manufacturing Queensland and the event’s online registration platform.
