Adelaide is set to host around 2,000 delegates this week for the 2026 Australian Energy Producers Conference and Exhibition, with industry leaders, policymakers and energy experts gathering to discuss the future of Australia’s energy sector.

According to the industry body Australian Energy Producers, the three-day event at the Adelaide Convention Centre will focus on the role of oil and gas in energy security, affordability and economic growth amid geopolitical uncertainty, rising global energy demand and technological change.

Held under the theme “Energy Evolved”, the conference will feature more than 150 speakers across plenary sessions, panel discussions and technical forums covering topics including energy security, geopolitics, artificial intelligence, investment, exploration, market reform, decarbonisation and emerging technologies.

Among the scheduled speakers are Peter Malinauskas, Angus Taylor, Anthony Chisholm, Pauline Hanson and Dale Last.

Australian Energy Producers Chief Executive Samantha McCulloch said the conference comes at a significant time for the sector.

“The global energy landscape is evolving rapidly and the stakes – and opportunities – for Australia’s future energy security and economic growth have never been higher,” McCulloch said.

“The discussions taking place in Adelaide this week will examine the policy settings, investment frameworks and technological developments needed to ensure Australia remains a reliable and competitive energy supplier for decades to come.”

The conference will also include sessions examining the Federal Government’s Gas Market Review and the future of Australia’s east coast gas market, including policy and regulatory settings aimed at supporting future supply and long-term investment certainty.

Australian Energy Producers said the exhibition component of the event would showcase technologies and services supporting the sector, including digital systems, operational technologies, infrastructure, logistics and supply chain capabilities.

The 2026 Australian Energy Producers Conference and Exhibition is running from 18 to 21 May at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
