foodpro, one of the longest-running manufacturing industry events in Australia, will be returning after a six-year hiatus on 23 to 26 July 2023 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
More than 330 exhibitors will be demonstrating the most innovative machines, technologies, products, and manufacturing processes in a range of key zones, as announced in a press release.
Key categories taking up the majority of the exhibition floor include processing and packaging, ingredients, food science and technology, and plant equipment.
“There’s currently a huge buzz in the industry about this year’s foodpro given we are making a much-anticipated return,” said Felicity Parker, foodpro product manager.
She went on to say that foodpro will be the first Australian event in the global calendar to highlight the most recent advancements in food manufacturing from both overseas and locally.
“The floor will be jam-packed with suppliers plus there’s a host of fantastic events and presentations not to be missed,” Parker noted.
Apart from the aforementioned key zones, foodpro will also address Packaging Materials, which will provide valuable solutions for bespoke line requirements, specialised transport and storage requirements, and sustainability criteria.
Logistics and handling will also be underscored, and in this new zone, attendees will be able to connect with logistics experts and test advancements in supply chain technology and equipment.
New to foodpro, the IT and Digital Factories segment allows industry leaders to engage with businesses focusing on Internet of Things (IoT), smart sensors, and application developments.
Meanwhile, a four-day education program, which will be taking place each day across the Product Innovation Stage, sponsored by Wiley, and the Schneider Electric Smart Food Lounge, will cover a wide breadth of topics.
The Australian Institute of Food Science & Technology (AIFST) will also hold its annual convention in the MCEC from 24 to 25 July 24-25, during foodpro.
To fulfil future requirements, the organization advocates for a strong, creative, science-based Australian food sector.
After the first day of the Convention, the AIFST will host a networking function for delegates to connect with peers and colleagues over drinks and canapes.
