Australian cleaning and hygiene products manufacturer Clean Plus Chemicals has tripled its manufacturing capacity over the past 12 months, following investment in blending equipment, automation, infrastructure, systems and production capabilities, according to the company.

In a news release, the Sydney-based manufacturer said the expansion was aimed at increasing production capacity, supporting higher volumes and improving its ability to develop products and respond to changing customer requirements.

Clean Plus Chemicals was established in Sydney in 1992 and has grown from a 210-square-metre operation into more than 8,000 square metres of manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, laboratory and research and development facilities across Sydney, the company said.

It also operates interstate warehousing in Brisbane and Melbourne and supplies customers nationally through its distributor network.

According to Clean Plus, the company currently manufactures and supplies more than 1,000 products for industries where quality, consistency, innovation and supply reliability are important. Its products are also exported to markets including New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, the Philippines, Vietnam and China.

The company said its recent investment included new bespoke blending vessels, expanded automated packaging capabilities, upgraded enterprise resource planning (ERP) and manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems, additional water storage and recycling infrastructure, and an expanded solar energy system.

Clean Plus said these investments were intended not only to increase output but also to improve the flexibility and responsiveness of its manufacturing operations.

“That investment gives us the capacity to take on larger customers, support higher volumes, develop new products faster and respond to changing market requirements with greater speed and flexibility,” the company said.

The manufacturer said its production capabilities span liquid and powder chemistry, concentrated and ready-to-use products, plant-based formulations, enzyme and probiotic-based technologies, and GECA-certified solutions.

Clean Plus also operates an in-house laboratory and R&D team, which the company said works with customers on formulations for specific applications, industries and commercial requirements.

The business was founded by industrial engineer Wasim Farhart, who remains its CEO and is actively involved in the company more than three decades after its establishment, according to Clean Plus.

The company said Farhart’s approach to the business has continued to focus on quality manufacturing, investment in people and technology, customer relationships and long-term growth.

Clean Plus said it had deliberately increased its investment in Australian manufacturing to gain greater control over production processes and reduce reliance on long offshore supply chains.

“For our customers, that means greater security of supply, faster response times, shorter development cycles and the ability to adapt as their businesses grow,” the company said.

The manufacturer operates as a business-to-business supplier and said it does not seek to compete directly with its customers. Instead, it provides established product ranges, private-label manufacturing, formulation development and additional production capacity.

Clean Plus said its manufacturing strategy was focused on supporting customers with different requirements, including businesses seeking to introduce new products or increase production.

The company said its manufacturing capabilities were supported by staff with experience across chemistry, production, product development, quality, logistics and customer requirements.

Clean Plus said its latest investments were part of its longer-term focus on expanding Australian manufacturing capability and supporting customers across domestic and export markets.

“Our focus remains simple: manufacture in Australia, invest in capability, support our customers and keep improving,” the company said.
