Konica Minolta Australia, Macquarie University and ANZRP’s TechCollect are partnering again on an e-waste recycling initiative, with the 2026 Rethink e-recycling Drive set to run across Macquarie Park from 17 to 23 October.

The initiative follows an inaugural event in 2025 and will provide residents, students, staff and businesses with collection points for unwanted technology, with collected items to be processed through TechCollect.

Andrew Bywaters, Senior Manager Facilities, Quality & Environment at Konica Minolta Australia, said the initiative was intended to make responsible e-waste recycling more accessible to the wider community.

“Sustainability and environmental responsibility are at the heart of how we operate at Konica Minolta,” Bywaters said. “Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, we’re proud to bring the initiative back in 2026, working with Macquarie University and ANZRP to make responsible e-waste recycling more accessible for residents, students, staff and businesses.”

ANZRP said the 2026 event would expand its geographic reach and collection channels, while introducing a certified secure data erasure service for eligible devices. Participating customers will receive certificates confirming the erasure.

ANZRP Chief Marketing Communications and People Officer Anne Stonier said the event was “becoming a growing e-recycling event for local communities and businesses”.

“In 2026, the event will expand its geographic reach, offer a wider range of collection channels and, for the first time, provide a certified secure data erasure service for eligible devices,” Stonier said.

Accepted items include personal and laptop computers and cables, tablets, notebooks, palmtops, computer monitors and accessories, printers, fax machines, scanners, multifunction devices and televisions.

Macquarie University will operate designated collection points at its Sport and Aquatic Centre and the carpark at 2 Link Road from 17 to 23 October.

A collection will also be held at Konica Minolta’s Macquarie Park office at 4 Drake Avenue on 23 October from 9am to 3pm. Registered businesses can use a drive-through drop-off at the company’s loading dock at 85 Epping Road from 21 to 23 October, between 7am and 6pm.

According to Konica Minolta Australia, all collected e-waste will be processed by ANZRP through TechCollect, its national e-waste collection and recycling service.
