Endua, a Brisbane-based clean technology company, has received $4.88 million in funding from the Australian Government’s Industry Growth Program to accelerate the development and commercialisation of its advanced hydrogen electrolyser technology.
The funding will support Endua’s AHEAD project – short for Advanced Hydrogen Electrolyser for Australian Decarbonisation – which aims to enhance the performance and manufacturing scale of the company’s proprietary proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyser.
In a news release, Endua stated the project is aligned with federal priorities to develop clean energy industries, reduce emissions, and expand Australia’s domestic advanced manufacturing capabilities.
“This funding represents an exciting milestone in our mission to deliver world-leading hydrogen electrolyser products directly to the industries and locations where they’re needed most,” said Paul Sernia, CEO of Endua.
“It will enable us to build critical local supply chain capability and manufacturing expertise, positioning us to capture future growth opportunities both in Australia and internationally.”
Endua described its PEM electrolyser as a compact, modular system designed for on-site hydrogen production. The plug-and-play system is reportedly engineered to simplify installation and commissioning, helping reduce the infrastructure burden typically associated with hydrogen projects.
The company said its technology is tailoured to support industries that require reliable, decentralised energy solutions.
The AHEAD project is part of a broader effort to boost Australia’s energy resilience and decarbonisation agenda by supporting the growth of local clean energy technologies.
Engineered and manufactured in South East Queensland, Endua said its electrolyser is designed for rapid deployment without major site modifications, aiming to make clean energy more accessible to businesses across the country.
The Industry Growth Program is administered by the Department of Industry, Science and Resources.
