Atlassian Williams F1 Team and global manufacturing company Komatsu have announced the third edition of their joint program to recruit and accelerate the careers of young engineers.
The Komatsu Williams Engineering Academy will select members from the finalist pools of leading collegiate engineering competitions, Formula Student and Formula SAE.
The academy aims to help young talents “supercharge their career ambitions” through virtual sessions, visits to manufacturing facilities, and mentorship from specialists at Komatsu and Williams.
The global program is a staple of Atlassian’s Early Careers offering. The F1 team said it is committed to “investing in the talent of the future through their industrial placements, graduate programs, and work experience.”
Currently, 12% of the Williams’ staff members are from the Early Careers Program, according to the organisation.
“Here at Atlassian Williams F1 Team, we know that our success depends on the talent of the future. Programmes like the Komatsu Williams Engineering Academy give us a unique opportunity to identify talent and accelerate their rise, whether that’s in motorsport, industrial engineering, or machinery. We look forward to meeting the finalists at Silverstone and virtually later this year,” said Ann Perrins, chief people officer at Atlassian Williams F1 Team.
Takuya Imayoshi, president and CEO of Komatsu, spoke on the partnership with Atlassian and the two organisations’ goal of developing the next generation of talent.
“The Komatsu Williams Engineering Academy is a great opportunity for young engineers to fast-track their career – we look forward to seeing this amazing talent on display,” Imayoshi said.
All student finalists from both Silverstone in the United Kingdom and other global assessment centres can apply for membership from 8 June.
Atlassian also invites other Formula Student and FSAE competitors to stay on the lookout for virtual applications in the latter part of the year.
