Additive Manufacturing Research (AM Research) has unveiled the market performance for the fourth quarter of 2023, marking a year of challenges for the additive manufacturing (AM) sector.

In a report released by Additive Manufacturing Research (AMR), the global additive manufacturing (AM) market has faced a one per cent estimated sequential decline in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter.

Additive Manufacturing Research, previously SmarTech Analysis, has reported that the global additive manufacturing (AM) market experienced modest sequential growth of less than one per cent in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter, with the total market estimated at $3.52 billion. 

Despite growing economic difficulties in the additive manufacturing (AM) global market, the first quarter of 2023 saw double-digit sequential growth to USD 3.7 billion (AUD 5.5 billion) compared to USD 3.4 billion (AUD 5 billion) during the same period of the prior quarter in, according to latest data from SmarTech Analysis. 

The additive manufacturing (AM) market is predicted to grow at a rapid pace, by roughly 23 per cent, to $13.5 billion (AUD 20.2 billion) in 2022, and is projected to be worth $25 billion (AUD 37 billion) by 2025, based on the most recent market statistics by SmarTech Analysis.

The additive manufacturing market has seen a continuous year-over-year growth for the third quarter of 2022, marking the fourth consecutive quarter that the entire AM industry saw revenue exceeding $3 billion. 

The global additive manufacturing sector has generated a total of $3 billion for the second consecutive quarter of 2022, according to SmarTech Analysis.
