Fortescue wins top honours at Platts Global Metals Awards

Fortescue Metals Group (Fortescue) has won high recognitions at the Platts Global Metals Awards which recognise top performers, industry leaders and innovators across 14 different categories.

The Group claimed the esteemed ‘Metals Company of the Year’ award for all-round excellence, as well as the ‘Industry Leadership Award – Raw Materials and Mining’.

Speaking at a black-tie gala in London, Fortescue’s Chief Executive Officer New Power said the awards recognised the ‘hard work and determination’ of everyone at Fortescue.

“Our team has delivered outstanding results across all of our operations, including improved safety performance, consistent production, sustained productivity and efficiency gains and disciplined capital management.” Mr Power said.

“I am extremely proud of what Fortescue has achieved and of our commitment to ensuring the development and growth of our business benefits our local communities through training, employment and business development opportunities.”
