Bioenergy Australia has announced a strategic partnership with Climate Action Week Sydney (CAWSYD26) for the 2026 Renewable Fuels Summit, which will spotlight renewable fuels and gas as key themes in Australia’s transition toward a low-carbon economy.
The event, to be held from 10 to 12 March 2026 at Sydney Town Hall, will bring together more than 500 delegates, including government representatives, investors, and industry leaders from Australia and abroad.
According to Bioenergy Australia, the Summit aims to explore policy, technology, and investment pathways that can help future-proof industries, regions, and energy security ahead of COP31.
Bioenergy Australia CEO Shahana McKenzie said the partnership underscores the growing momentum around low-carbon fuels and gas in achieving national emissions targets.
“Renewable fuels and gas are absolutely critical to Australia’s net-zero future, creating jobs, supporting regional economies, and decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors,” McKenzie said.
“By joining forces with Climate Action Week Sydney, we are putting renewable fuels at the heart of the national climate conversation — connecting innovators, policymakers, and investors to turn ambition into tangible action ahead of COP31.”
The announcement follows the Australian Government’s recent $1.1 billion commitment to accelerate low-carbon liquid fuel supply, which Bioenergy Australia said supports decarbonisation efforts across key industries.
Climate Action Week Sydney Chief Operating Officer Ed Schmidt said the collaboration provides an opportunity to highlight Australia’s leadership in renewable fuels and energy transition on the global stage.
“We’re genuinely excited to collaborate with Bioenergy Australia,” Schmidt said. “Bringing the 2026 Renewable Fuels Summit to Sydney creates an unparalleled opportunity to showcase Australia’s leadership and connect global industry, government, and investors ahead of COP31.”
