Safer Storage Systems (SSS) has expanded its manufacturing operations in Australia, commissioning a new upright roll former as part of a broader investment aimed at strengthening local pallet racking production
Safer Storage Systems, which describes itself as a local manufacturer and warehouse solutions provider, said the 50-metre-long custom-designed equipment significantly increases production capacity for its Silverline Pallet Racking range.
It noted the system is also intended to improve flexibility in producing customised lengths, heights and profiles to meet specific warehousing requirements.
In a news release, the company said the expansion builds on its decision in 2021 to begin local production of the Silverline range, positioning it as an Australian-made alternative to imported pallet racking systems.
Following its acquisition by global warehouse automation specialist Element Logic, Safer Storage Systems said it remains committed to maintaining and expanding its manufacturing footprint in Australia.
“This investment is about building long-term capability,” said Matt Bell, Managing Director at Safer Storage Systems. “As warehouse operations become larger and more automated, customers need infrastructure partners that can respond quickly and support changing requirements without disruption. Expanding our Australian manufacturing capability allows us to deliver high-quality product with greater speed and control.”
Safer Storage Systems said the upgrade reflects broader shifts in warehousing and intralogistics, where increasing scale and automation are driving demand for locally manufactured infrastructure that can support long-term scalability and supply chain reliability.
The company also pointed to ongoing challenges in global supply chains, including shipping delays, freight volatility and extended lead times, which it said have reinforced the strategic value of domestic manufacturing and improved delivery control.
According to Safer Storage Systems, the Silverline Pallet Racking system delivers around 85 per cent lower carbon emissions compared with similar imported alternatives, primarily due to reduced international freight and localised production processes, supporting customers’ sustainability and ESG objectives.
The company said the continued expansion of its Australian manufacturing operations will support local industry and employment while improving supply continuity and project delivery certainty for customers in the warehousing sector.
