Toyota Australia has announced it has secured an additional 10,000 vehicles for Australian customers in 2026, in a move the company says will help meet continued strong demand across its model range.
In a news release, Toyota Australia said the increased allocation lifts its full-year sales forecast to 220,000 vehicles, reinforcing what it described as sustained customer confidence in its brand and product portfolio.
The company also noted it remains the only automotive brand to have sold more than 200,000 vehicles in Australia in a single year.
The additional production covers several of its most in-demand models, including the RAV4, which was Australia’s best-selling SUV in 2025, the HiLux, which is currently Toyota’s number one selling vehicle in Australia year-to-date, and the bZ4X, the company’s first all-electric model offered in the local market.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations John Pappas said the uplift reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to prioritise Australian customers within its global production planning.
“Toyota has been part of Australian communities for almost seventy years, and we continue to see strong demand from customers who rely on us for their mobility needs,” Pappas said.
“This increase in supply is great news for our customers and dealers. It reflects the strong partnership we have with Toyota globally to prioritise the Australian market.”
He added that demand for key models continues to be strong across different segments of the market.
“Vehicles like HiLux remain essential for many Australians, while RAV4 continues to lead the SUV segment thanks to its versatility, drivability and efficiency,” he said.
Pappas said the company will continue working with its global production teams to seek additional supply where possible, with the aim of matching availability to ongoing customer demand in Australia.
“We will continue working closely with our global production teams to secure additional supply where possible and ensure we are meeting the needs of Australian customers today and into the future,” he said.
