ARM Hub, a robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and design-for-manufacture industry hub based in Australia, has unveiled plans to launch a Data and AI-as-a-Service offering in 2024.

The Brisbane-based organisation said it will provide a scalable and highly secure data and AI infrastructure, fully implemented in the cloud, offering ease of use with minimal ownership or maintenance expenses.

In particular, ARM Hub reported that the evolving landscape of Generative AI has prompted manufacturers and supply chain companies to seek assistance in harnessing data and AI technologies effectively.

Dr Cori Stewart, CEO and founder of ARM Hub, addressed this issue at the international ADIPEC 2023 Manufacturing and Industrialisation Strategic Conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

She emphasised that integrating diverse data sources into a unified platform to unlock the full potential of data has been a longstanding challenge for ARM Hub’s members.

Dr Stewart stated, “Currently, it is a difficult process for companies to develop, operate, and maintain data management infrastructure, and can often be beyond the means of small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) and research programs to do alone.”

To address this challenge, ARM Hub plans to offer Data and AI-as-a-Service exclusively to its members. This service will provide tailored AI tools, including chatbots, synthetic data generation, and bespoke applications.

Moreover, the cloud-hosted infrastructure will prioritize data privacy and responsible AI usage.

Dr Stewart highlighted the scalability of their AI infrastructure, which can support multiple companies and research organisations while maintaining data and compute resource separation.

“Companies can now tap into the power of their data to drive better business decisions without the cost and complexity of building an in-house data and AI platform,” Dr Stewart said.

She added, “Recognising that machine learning, Generative AI and real-time data processing projects often have short lifespans and require continuous maintenance, ARM Hub is committed to supporting service users,”

The hub will collaborate with clients on developing machine learning, Generative AI, and real-time data processing applications and address challenges related to data selection, bias, drift, and management.
