Hazer Group Ltd has entered into a binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hallett Group Pty Ltd to collaborate on product development and potential commercial graphite offtake discussions in South Australia, as the company looks to expand applications for its Hazer Graphite in construction and infrastructure materials.
The agreement will see Hallett Group evaluate the use of Hazer Graphite in low-emissions concrete and related building materials, building on previous qualification work by Boral Labs that confirmed the material meets Australian infrastructure standards for concrete applications.
Hazer said the initiative is supported by ongoing engagement with the Government of South Australia to explore industrial decarbonisation opportunities and strengthen emerging supply chains across steel, construction and infrastructure sectors.
Hazer managing director and chief executive Glenn Corrie said the partnership reflects the company’s growing regional strategy.
“We are excited to be collaborating with Hallett, one of South Australia’s leading industrial businesses and the state’s largest integrated suppliers of building, construction and mining material,” Corrie said.
“Hallett’s established market position, product development capabilities and commitment to industrial decarbonisation make them an ideal partner to evaluate new commercial applications for Hazer Graphite.”
Hallett Group chief executive Kane Salisbury said the collaboration aligns with the company’s broader decarbonisation efforts.
“Using Hazer’s graphite product will enable Hallett in meeting the rapidly growing demand for low-carbon concrete materials in the region,” Salisbury said.
Under the MOU, Hallett will have exclusive rights to use Hazer graphite in South Australia’s concrete market until 1 January 2027, with subsequent rights to make a first offer for a further 12 months.
Both companies retain the ability to terminate the agreement with 30 days’ notice.
