Australian metal additive manufacturing company Titomic announced the sale of its D623 cold spray system to United Industrial Solutions for AUD 174,000.

This marks the first deployment of the advanced system in Australia, signifying a major step forward in the resource sector’s use of cutting-edge technology, the company said in an ASX announcement.

United Industrial Solutions, a specialist in coatings and corrosion mitigation, will utilise the D623 system to perform critical service work for some of the world’s leading energy suppliers and key marine industry players.

The system will primarily be applied to deposit corrosion-resistant coatings on vital oil and gas assets in Western Australia, extending the lifespan and resilience of these structures in harsh marine environments.

The D623 is the latest advancement in Titomic’s portable cold spray systems, boasting a higher deposition rate and the ability to deposit harder metals compared to its predecessor, the D523.

This makes it particularly suitable for demanding industries like energy and maritime, where asset longevity is crucial, according to the company.

The introduction of the D623 has been met with strong demand, with previous sales to global leaders such as Airbus, EPCOR, University Rey Juan Carlos, and Neue Materialien Bayreuth.

By deploying the D623 system, United Industrial Solutions aims to enhance the operational efficiency and durability of Australia’s vital oil and gas infrastructure.
