Manufacturing capabilities and defence sustainment are set to be advanced under a new multi-year research agreement between Titomic USA, Inc. and a US military research organisation, focused on developing cold spray and additive manufacturing applications for defence modernisation.
The Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA), signed in Huntsville, Alabama, establishes a framework for joint research activities aimed at next-generation defence manufacturing, materials development and sustainment, as revealed in an ASX announcement.
It aligns with the U.S. Department of War’s 2026 National Defense Strategy and budget priorities to strengthen the defence industrial base and improve delivery speed for critical capabilities, including missile and munitions production and repair.
Under the agreement, the partners will explore the application of Titomic’s proprietary Titomic Kinetic Fusion™ (TKF) cold spray technology across areas such as repair, restoration, advanced materials development, survivability enhancement and expeditionary manufacturing.
Titomic said the initiative is intended to support improved operational readiness and reduced lifecycle costs through faster and more flexible manufacturing approaches.
“This CRADA underscore Titomic’s commitment to advancing defence readiness through continuous innovation in additive manufacturing technologies,” said Jim Simpson, CEO and Managing Director of Titomic.
“Our collaboration is directly aligned with the DoW’s strategy to improve capability with enhanced innovation and aims to deliver transformational solutions for in-field repairs, lifecycle extension, and rapidresponse manufacturing that directly benefit the warfighters’ capabilities.”
Dr Patti Dare, President of Titomic USA, Inc., said the partnership would be anchored at its Huntsville advanced manufacturing and R&D facility. “Our US facility is located within one of the nation’s most significant defence, missile, and aerospace ecosystems and positioned near key government, prime contractor, and research partners,” she said.
“This cooperative agreement supports Titomic’s U.S. based advanced manufacturing and sustainment activities aimed at accelerating the adoption of next-generation cold spray technologies with an emphasis on survivability and expeditionary manufacturing requirements.”
